As part of the Technical Assistance for Economic Growth project by USAID, and in close collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Mipymes, we had the privilege of attending the event "Pathway and Learning of Costa Rica in Medical Devices: A Model of Innovation and Growth." The session was led by representatives from the Costa Rican Coalition of Development Initiatives (CINDE), an organization globally recognized for its excellence in attracting foreign direct investment and for positioning Costa Rica as a leader in the medical devices sector.
During this enriching meeting, experiences and lessons learned by Costa Rica in building its medical device ecosystem were shared. These valuable insights not only highlighted the country's success but also offered ideas that could be key to strengthening strategies in the Dominican Republic to stimulate economic growth and attract more foreign investment.
The eventbrought together a wide range of relevant stakeholders, including executives from ADOZONA and representatives from various companies located in free zones and industrial parks. The presence of the Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Mipymes, Ito Bisonó, and the Executive Director of the National Council of Free Zones, Daniel Liranzo, underscored the importance of cooperation between thepublic and private sectors to create a favorable environment that drivesinvestment and industrial development in our country.
